Project Summary
ATM served as the City
of Fort Pierce marina consultant to help transform the old municipal
marina into a state-of-the-art, full-service facility. Early planning
efforts centered around a comprehensive feasibility study and market
assessment to determine the City’s best redevelopment options.
Extensive regulatory permitting, design and bidding were accomplished
for the replacement and addition of wet slips, utility upgrades,
and maintenance dredging.
ATM engineers completed a detailed facilities inventory and
assessment of the existing 240-slip municipal marina (a series
of 94 floating dock slips, and 145 fixed wooden pier slips).
Many of the piers exceeded the facilities design life and replacement
was recommended (and completed in 1998). An evaluation of
alternative slip layouts for the existing interior basin was
completed for
the City, as well as an assessment of long-term maintenance dredging
for the entire marina facility. Most recently, ATM completed
a study to assist the City in possible further expansion options.
ATM continues to maintain a close relationship with the City
and marina staff to promote the ongoing redevelopment and successful
operation of the marina.
