Project Description: Under ATM’s value engineering framework agreement, ATM achieved significant savings through value engineering, not only in terms of quantities but also in terms of methods and time. National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) was awarded the design and build of the Sir Baniyas Marina and Channel Project including breakwater protection and other components. ATM was appointed by NMDC to carry out the value engineering detailed design of the 1,515-metre rubble-mound breakwater that varied in depths from +0.50 m Admiralty Chart Datum (ACD) to approximately –11.00 m ACD. ATM received the design when it was already on its fourth revision.
