ATM is at the forefront of quantitative analyses for coastal vulnerability and resilient design solutions. For more than three decades, ATM professionals have used state-of-the-art tools to quantify storm surge, wave impacts and river flooding to improve coastal and shoreline design as well as stormwater management. We have adapted these processes to analyze climate change and sea-level rise impacts to maximize resiliency in coastal programs. Our design process analyzes existing and predicted conditions of multiple elements including flood protection, ecological enhancement, creation of public spaces or amenities, and recreational navigation facilities improvement. This approach results in the integration of environmental features that are part of the shoreline design, amenities that include hidden coastal protection functions, and landscape design features that are elements of stormwater management.
