Project Description: Q-Con’s Qatar Marine Fabrication Yard (QMFY) in Mesaieed is gearing up for a new generation of heavy offshore projects that demand greater loadout capacity, operational efficiency and safety margins. To support this strategic upgrade, Q-Con appointed ATM as marine engineering consultant for the detailed design of a major jetty expansion. This expansion consists of a new 253-metre quay wall with a 33-metre return wall built seaward of the existing structure, a new 39-metre by 21.5-metre loadout bay rated for a 600 kPa (60 t/m²) surcharge, and the structural integration of the existing North and South loadout bays. The upgrade positions QMFY to transfer heavy fabricated modules onto loadout barges for the offshore campaigns ahead. ATM’s role included data collection and review, quay wall concept and detailed design, tender packaging and tender support, and construction home-office support.
