Nico Pisarello, GISP, and Janet Hearn, P.E., (Florida) will present “Facilitating Cohesion in Stormwater Maintenance” at the Florida Stormwater Association (FSA) 2022 Winter Conference at The B Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, on December 1 at 1:00 p.m. EST. The conference takes place November 30 through December 2, 2022.

Nico Pisarello is a Water Resources Professional with ATM, a Geosyntec Company, and has practical experience in stormwater management plans and issues related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting process. He prepares geospatial analyses as part of coastal vulnerability and resilience studies and performs Geographic Information System (GIS) analyses, hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling, flood mapping, statistical analyses, and research.

Janet Hearn is a Senior Engineer with ATM and offers 38 years of experience. An advisor, liaison, and advocate for many government clients, she provides technical assistance on total maximum daily load (TMDL) and basin management action plan (BMAP) programs in Florida. She specializes in analyzing and preparing nutrient reduction plans and strategies, water quality assessments, and surface water adaptation plans. She also ensures municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit compliance, and has extensive experience designing and executing hydrologic, water quality, and sediment sampling studies in freshwater and ocean environments.

FSA was organized in 1993 to promote greater awareness of stormwater utilities and to improve their operational capacities. The association develops, promotes, and conducts educational programs, including workshops, seminars, and conferences. Engineers, scientists, stormwater managers, policymakers, and elected officials throughout Florida attend the Winter Conference to learn from stormwater experts, see the latest technologies and products, and network with peers.

Topic: Facilitating Cohesion in Stormwater Maintenance
Speakers: Nico Pisarello, GISP, and Janet Hearn, P.E., ATM a Geosyntec Company
Date/Time: December 1 at 1:00 p.m. EST

Abstract: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing and implementing two initiatives to improve stormwater facility inspection and maintenance processes, create a statewide stormwater asset inventory, and promote consistent maintenance standards statewide. This session will provide an overview of how these programs will standardize stormwater facility inspection and maintenance in addition to allowing real-time updates to existing stormwater asset inventory, facility inspections, and maintenance needs.
