Our integrated marina planning process includes a combination of upland development, market evaluations, environmental considerations, marina operations, engineering assessments, and financial planning tools. We develop marina concept plans for a variety of clients and work with renowned resort planners and urban designers in consensus-building charettes. The goal of this process is a market-sensitive design that appropriately scales marina facilities while promoting sustainability. Our marina designs are economically sound, operationally effective, environmentally acceptable, and integrate seamlessly with other project components.

Construction Phase Services

Our experience with project bidding, negotiation, contract administration and construction inspection, coupled with our technical planning and design expertise, provides ATM with the unique ability to take marina projects, efficiently and effectively, from the drawing board to reality.

To date, we have provided construction phase services on projects that total more than 5,700 wet slips and over 700 drystack racks. The construction value for these recreational marina projects exceeds $400 million and does not include the many shoreline stabilization, beach nourishment, recreational access, and other waterfront construction projects that we have overseen.

Due Diligence

Our due diligence process includes site evaluations from three principle perspectives: engineering, environmental and business/operational. We prepare detailed assessments of a facility’s physical condition, business performance and operational practices, environmental history, and current liabilities. Through a thorough evaluation of these factors, we prepare an informed analysis of the “true” value of a marina facility and provide recommendations for optimizing assets. We provide these services for facility owners, potential buyers and investors, and financial institutions.

Grant Funding

Through our experience and knowledge of the development process, we recognize the funding challenges associated with marine infrastructure development. Local, state and federal grant funding are often pivotal to project feasibility.

We’ve had dramatic success in securing grant funding for waterfront projects. These awards have come from a variety of programs including, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Clean Vessel Act and Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) Programs as well as the Florida Boating Improvement Fund.

In fact, we have helped our clients obtain more than 55 awards for more than $43.5 million of BIG funding in 10 states and territories!
